Christmas in Sydney

Hello everyone!

Calendar candle!

My beloved family sent me another parcel - this time with Christmas stuff!

Even though it's hot, it's far away from home, and it's without family, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! :D

Christmas calendars and my present!
I just need 1 more reindeer and I win!!

I made a Christmas day with our flatmates, and taught them all to make Christmas hearts, so now the living room looks awesome.

Rudolf and Mr. Snowman!

I made "havregrynskugler" (danish Christmas candy) and Marzipan. They liked it and it was gone in few minutes.

I also tried out my cooking skills to make "Risengrød" - a danish dessert with rice and milk, and that was also very popular with my flatmates.

yaaaay favourite thing about Christmas! xD

Martin and I bought a Christmas present for me and Martin... One we were allowed to open a bit earlier, because we need it badly!

I am wearing my santa hat every single day, and I even did my nails with Christmas stuff, which a lot of people compliment in Luna Park.

Mr. Snowman in action. Actually looks a bit lik snow

The candle at night

Martins first Christmas heart!

Our pressent! the card says:
"To Martin and Ditte from Ditte and Martin"

Oh my God! Look! A fan!!!! :D

Furnished Property finally gave us kitchen utensils!
Now we can cook food again - yaay

Risengrød! It was really good!

And to you all I wish a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

Look at all those hearts!

Guests in Luna Park

Luna Park celebrating Movember
On a day off, our colleage Michael, Martin and I went to Luna park af guests to try the rides.
It was really fun, here are the pictures:

As you can see in the picture, Luna Park celebrated Movember.
One day they opened the park for no one but a party of Movember people, who all came dressed up in Mo-costumes, drunk, and happy!
Michael and I in the ferris wheel
It was so funny working that night, as everybody did crazy things!

A man dressed like a snowman with fur and giant feet, came to me to go on a slide in Coney Island. When I told him to put his feet in the pocket of the mat, he just looked at me and said:
"They are a size 56! Do you really expect me to get them inside that small pocket?"
But yes, otherwise I can't allow him on the slide. And he actually managed to get his feet inside!

List of WOW-card people!

I also got a WOW-card in Luna park. It is a card a small number of guests gets from the manager of the park. They give the card to a staff member who does something extra!

And I also was made team member of the day again, for a funny game called "Do you like your neighbour?"

Everybody is standing in a circle and one person is standing in the middle. The person in the middle asks someone in the circle if they like their neighbour. If the answer is no, the 2 people standing on each side of that person has to svop places.

I think I saw batman o.O

The asked person can also respond "Yes, but I don't like anyone... wearing black socks, wearing glasses, with blond hair, brown eyes, ANYTHING!" and the people who fits the description, has to svop places!
The idea is that the person in the middle has to steal someones place.

I hereby reveal to you my secret workplace! This is where I go writing on my stories on my days off - looks nice, right? :D

Martin seems to have a nice time in Coles!

Cheers

Merry Christmas :D

Merry Christmas everyone, now it's finally december!

I love Christmas, but it's gonna be weird without snow, without family but with 40 degrees and on the other side of the planet!

Anyways.... I'm ready!

Manly Beach

Hello everybody!

Sorry I forget to update my blog sometimes...

In the beginning of November Martin and I went to Manly beach on a day when it was really hot. It's only about half an hour with the ferry from Circular Quay (the harbour in Sydney)

?!

The water was nice and cold and the waves two metres tall! It was so much fun.

Clouds cover the city like a blanket

The only bad thing was the seagulls, who attacked us in their attempt of stealing our food.

We buried Martins legs! :D

The cloud over the bridge looks like Phoenix
or a dinosaur bird! D:
Hope you like the pictures :)

Sydney - As Time Goes Bye

Beautiful purple tree at Sydney University
Ollo :D

Here comes some random stories and pictures from my daily life here in Sydney.

Free Beer!

Lake at night
One day when I was doing my laundry, I went downstairs to the bar to get some change for the machine, and the owner of the bar looked at me and asked me:

"Do you want a jug of beer?"
I was like: "What?!"
"Do you want it?" and the he pointed at one at the desk. "Because I need to get rid of it!"
Of course I wanted it! And my flatmates became really happy when I came upstairs with free beer!

Spideeeeeeer!
Martin and I have started taking walks at night! It's really nice, as it is still warm, around 22 degrees, and then it's very interresting!

The park looks so different with the city lights reflecting in the ponds and flying foxes are flying EVERYWHERE!!!

And then of course we meet a couple of spiders!

My lassagne

My dearly beloved family sent me a package of highly needed stuff, liquerice, bernaise sauce and lassagne, and now I made it!

It was really good, and tasted like home, thank you.

3 goals, broomsticks, and all the different balls!

As I said before, Sydney University looks a lot like Hogwarts, and this week my suspiciouns came even more alive:

THEY PLAYED QUIDDITCH!!!!

It's hard to see in the picture, I will try to upload a video once I edit it.

Cheers!

Sydney - Sct Andrews Cathedral

St. Andrews Cathedral

Helloooo people!
Here are my pictures fra St. Andrews Cathedral.

It's a very quiet place, built around 1880, beautiful like most churches, but ruined by the plastic chairs and the TV screens...

Inside the church I met John, who offered me a "guided tour" where he told me some history of the church.

How to make your own coffee without a machine!

I want you to know, that this thing can only be used a couple of times, as the cardboard will get soft from getting wet, and therefore fall apart.

So! I bought a small strainer, which fits perfectly in my cup, and it can be used all the time without ever falling apart!

Today I bought some new ground coffee at my favourite coffee shop ( it's called Hernandes) and I have never tasted anything so good before! It was the most amazing coffee I have ever had, and I am just waititng for tomorrow to come, so that I can have another cup!

Sydney - the 24th October

Haii guuyyys!

I'm sorry I'm not updating that much, but I don't have that much to update about!

Time is flying pretty fast, I'm working Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays in Luna Park, and in the weekdays I am to be found where the fish are swimming in the grass, the trees touching the sky and the flowers are birds!

This mystical place is perfect for writing fantasy stories, and I already wrote about 10 chapters in no time!

Gift from home!
Liquerice, lassagne and bernaise sauce

As usually I find funny/random stuff in the streets, and I am glad to show you my pictures!

Angel cloud!

Holloween is approaching and Luna Park expects us to go to work dressed up in this weekend! I can't wait, it's gonna be awesome! :D

I will of course put a picture of my costume here.

The new haircut

I was starting to get annoyed about my long fringes, but I don't want to pay a hair dresser 25$ to cut 2cm off my fringes!

Therefore I bought a CreaClip! This wonderful creation allows me to cut it straight myself!

The weather here is acting crazy!
In the morning the sun is shining, and then BAM!!! Out of nowhere it starts hailing like crazy!

This is a limo! But the yellow car decided to photobomb me,
so it just looks like a normal car! xD
This Tuesday we were not placed last in the trivia!! :D
I actually answered 2 questions, so I felt really clever!
Aaaaaand! I won the meat!!!!!

I came down a little late, but I hurried up to the bar, where the waitress told me, that it was too late: the guy had just left to go up and draw the winner!

This tree decided to try if he could eat the fence...

I therefore ran back, found the guy and asked him if I could pleeeeaaasseeeee buy a ticket for the raffle.
He gave me the last ticket, and two minutes later, my number was yelled all over the bar!
Bat, or Flying Fox

In Australia, everything of course is bigger than in the rest of the planet... including the bats!

They are called flying foxes, and they are about ½ meter with their wings spread! They are flying around where we live in the night, and one of them got stucked in the phone cable, and ripped off its own wing o.O

Cheers!
