Some of the other backpackers from Denmark
Carina, Martin, Christopher, Laura and Jacob |
Now I’m finally here!
It was a long flight, but it was alright, because our luxurious plane had a TV with more than a hundred movies and a lot of games, including TETRIS! Of course I got the highscore of all the passengers 8-)

| In Dubai airport |
We landed in Dubai to change plane, and we had 3 hours to spend in the airport… in the middle of the night when almost everything was closed.
 |
| fancy hats, right? |
Luckily I’m not travelling alone, but had the fabulous company of my friend: Martin
 |
weird birds to find everywhere
in the parks |
Martin and I went to the same boarding school and have been good friends ever since. In the winter vacation we were on a skiing holiday together, where I told Martin my plans about Australia, and he found it so exciting he decided to join me. Yaaay! :D

Our hostel isn’t quite as I had imagined. The first room I was checked into didn’t have any beds for me.

You can see the Opera House and the bridge

Then the receptionist told me I could stay in the same room as Martin instead of the 3 snoring strangers in my own room, but he couldn’t move me before the next day, even though they had an empty bed…

| The city in the background |
Well this morning I moved into the other room, and some of the other participants in the work and travel program from ALOTT will move in tomorrow… slowly the Danish people are taking over!
 |
| The parrot! |
So! Today we went sightseeing. We walked through a park to get to the Opera House and we saw a parrot!
 |
| Maaaaany of them! |
We were so excited and had to take a thousand pictures! And then 5 minutes later, we found a group of them sitting in the grass and realised how normal they are.
The Opera House indeed is beautiful! Both from far away and from up close.

| Thihi I actually made some noise! xD |
We walked around the streets of Sydney and came by a store of didgeridoos. The man in the store let us try them, and was really something else!
With the final permission and a bit of editing I here bring you Martin playing the didgeridoo!
 |
| Sooo strong they are! |
The last thing I want to say is… Welcome to Sydney:
